Validation Tool

The cover will be injection molded so that it is suiteble for larger product series. The components in the inside of the tool are really stable and not moveable due to the use of ribs. The placement of the components inside of the housing is more logic than the previous model. The design of the product was not important during this project.

On the project I have done some analysis on the product with the Solidworks Analysis tool (3D-CAD program). I have done draft-analysis to see if the product could be produced with the injection molding technic. Also I have run a thickness analysis of the housing to see if there are some places in the product which are too thick or too thin. At the end I made a mould for the product in this program to show were the ejection pins will be on the product.

The components of the product are globally placed in the housing to clearly see the placement and attachement of all the different components. During this project I learned a lot about working with housings and placing the components in them. In addition, I learned a lot about the injection molding technique and how you can do analyzes in a 3D program.
